Message from the HOA President
Hello fellow Lost Plantation Homeowners,
2017 is a year of great change for us homeowners. We have not only hired a management company but also got a completely new Board of Directors. We started out January searching for the best management company for our neighborhood. We have interviewed a handful of top contenders, and negotiated a contract with the unanimously voted company: Associa HOA Management Company, https://associaonline.com/. We believe that they are the best fit for what we are looking for in our management company for Lost Plantation’s needs and directives. Their job is to handle our day to day tasks, bookkeeping, vendor overview, ARC functions, working with the Board of Directors, and many other tasks that will help us keep Lost Plantation a great neighborhood. They have been working with us through a transition period since March 1st, and have already made great strides in creating a cohesive team and positive direction for all.
After having a slightly rocky start with Mr. Al Hicks (our former President) and Mrs. Martha Martinez (our former Vice President) stepping down from their positions within the first 3 months of the year, we have pulled together and created a profound and enthusiastic board. We have also managed to create a solid ARC Committee and an energetic Social Committee for 2017. Both of these have some outstanding community volunteers behind them, and I look forward to working with them. At this time, I would like to introduce our new Board of Directors; myself (Rebecca Peavey) as President, Trudi Dockstader as Secretary and ARC member, Christina Prelle as Treasurer and lead contract negotiator, Paul Tanguay as Board member and ARC At Large, and Ted Barry as Board member and Landscape Liaison. We also have Major Bob May on the ARC committee, as well as 11 volunteers for the Social Committee: Alycia Calderin, Amanda Morgan, Blair Johnson Fitts, Daphne Rodriguez-Baron, Debbie French McDaniel, Kathy Adams Darr, Lindsey Carroll-Crisp, Lisa Tanguay, Mary Elizabeth Berry, Minnie Gillikin Smith, and Teshunda Moxley. I would like to personally thank each of these volunteers for stepping up and helping out Lost Plantation.
I am looking forward to all the fun, new, and exciting things that are coming up in 2017. Currently we are getting the pool ready for its projected open date of May 1st, we have the Annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt approaching, the Cinco de Mayo Meet and Greet with Associa, Yard of the Month starting in April, the Annual Pool Party on July 1, consistency within ARC approvals and citations, clean up of the common areas, and many other things to stay tuned for. We are all working hard to continue to see Lost Plantation continue to grow into an awesome neighborhood to live in and raise our families. If you are still interested in volunteering still, please let me know so I can get with you and work with your strengths. Remember: Many hands lead for light work!
